Planning to buy a portable keyboard of range between 200$ to 300$. I googled for some a while and found Yamaha PSR-E403 in Yamaha’s official website. This device comes with features such as 155 styles, 32-note polyphony and 504 voices and comes with 61 keys. It also have pro features like Pitch Bend Wheel for authentic playing of guitar and horn sounds, Control Knobs that allow you to have real time control over filters, effects, EQ, tempo and an arpeggio function for techno and synthesizer keyboard playing that can automatically add the playing of notes in rapid succession in ascending and descending fashion.

Yamaha PSR-E403You can connect this keyboard with your personal computer using USB and you can add more sounds and songs in your internal flash memory. Plus you can even play your songs into the computer or edit them if necessary. PSR-E403 also has 6-track sequencer to record your own music. Sound quality is also good enough with 2-way stereo speaker system, Bass Boost System, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Advanced Wave Memory (AWM).

It has lots of other great features like Music Finder, One Touch Setting (OTS), Registration Memory, Performance Assistant Technology, etc. You can easily compose your own songs and give them different digital effects. It has dual and split modes feature also. With dual mode you can layer two voices together - example piano and strings. Or you can use split mode to split the keyboard in two and play bass with the left hand and piano with the right hand for example. Now you can get this portable keyboard for around 200$. You can check out it’s features and specifications here.

These days I am quite more interested in digital music composition. I have tried different music composing softwares like Cakewalk, FL Studio (FruityLoops), etc. Today I am going to write a short about my favourite music creation software FL Studio.

FL Studio, which was known as FruityLoops also, is a fully featured music creation and production software for personal computers. This software produces any style of music by using different and complete set of instrument and studio tools which is included in the package. The user can create complete songs, as well as backing tracks, loops and sizzling beats with the included plugins, sounds and tools . You can save completed songs to WAV, MP3 or MIDI or .ZIP or native project formats (.FLP). FL Studio uses MIDI and DirectSound (internal mixing), 16-bit 44KHz stereo output, and 32-bit floating-point internal mixing. You can get support for VST plug-ins, as well as individual panning, volume, pitch, mix, resonance, and cutoff on each note.

There are more new features added in new version of FL Studio like Slicex, FL Synthmaker, Enhanced Edison WAV editor/recorder and Love Philter. This version (FL Studio 8 ) also includes Slicex drumloop slicing generator plugin, new SynthMaker modular environment, support for MIDI SysEx input and basic MMC functions. If you are also interested to use this interesting software then you can download 10 days trial version of FL Studio from here. (http://www.flstudio.com/documents/download.html)

Interested in video editing and mixing!

My another interest that I haven’t shared yet is video editing and mixing. I used to do video mixing and editing before 4/5 years when I was doing my +2. I did all these things only for fun. I tried different video editing softwares like Adobe Premiere, MGI Videowave, Ulead Videostudio, etc. One sample work that I have done is posted in my new video sharing website Video Sansar. It’s not so good, just mixed some video clips and audio using MGI Videowave. Just check it below!
